Mother’s Day means many different things to many different people. For some, Mother’s Day is a day to rejoice — as they reflect on their own mothers or their children. For others, it’s a day of sadness and grief. All of these emotions are made more complicated when we consider factors like infertility, aging parents, adoption, and more.

Today, we cull a brief list of some of our best content for and about mothers that adrress these topics (and more) — featuring selections from Amanda Aucoin, Jenn Hesse, Kathryn Carson, Brittany Salmon and Doug Ponder.

  • 5 Christian Women Who Have Shaped Culture
Amanda Aucoin: “Key women throughout history, some who held positions of influence during their own lifetime and many who did not, have impacted culture in ways they did not think likely or even possible at the time.”
  • 4 Ways Your Church Can Love the Childless
Jenn Hesse: “Mother’s Day is painful for women experiencing infertility and miscarriage. Having to stay seated while most every other woman in the congregation stands for applause or receives a rose cuts like a dagger to the heart of a woman who desires but hasn’t yet been given children.”
