Music. Story. Art. In what ways does our faith inform our creativity? How can we approach these genres as Christians?

We hosted the Rabbit Room Symposium on December 3-4, addressing the faithful interaction of faith and the arts. Part of the Symposiusm was a panel discussion with Andrew Peterson, Karen Swallow Prior, Jess Ray, Andy Gullahorn, Kyra Hinton, and Amy Whitfield.

The work that we’re making and the communities we’re forming ought to be nourishing to the world.

Highlights

  • Karen Swallor Prior: “When we see or hear something beautiful, we are understanding that through the medium of language…. Being made in the image of God means we have the ability to use language and experience the aesthetic.”
  • Andrew Peterson: “The work that we’re making and the communities we’re forming ought to be nourishing to the world.”
  • Andy Gullahorn: “The purest way I know how I feel is through songwriting.”
  • Kyra Hinton: “We don’t need to be afraid of our pain and our suffering.”
  • “It’s not possible to come this close to the story of redemption and remain unchanged.”
