Ways to Listen

In the Christ and Culture podcast with Ken Keathley and Benjamin Quinn, we explore how the Christian faith intersects all avenues of today’s culture through conversations with leading thinkers.

Today’s Episode:

Our Center is named after the late L. Russ Bush. Dr. Tom Nettles joins Dr. Ken Keathley to talk about their mutual friend, Dr. Bush — “one of the great saints of Southern Baptist life.” Dr. Nettles tells how he became friends with Dr. Bush, their shared concerns about the Southern Baptist Convention, and how their landmark book Baptists and the Bible came about. (The conversation starts at 7:10)

Plus, at 31:30, Dr. Keathley reads a letter Dr. Nettles wrote to Dr. Bush before his passing.

In “Headlines” (1:30), Dr. Keathley talks with Joseph Josselyn about his upcoming film on Jesus filmed entirely in American Sign Language. You can learn more and watch a trailer here:

And in “On My Bookshelf” (35:10), Dr. Nettles recommends two books.

Additional Resources:

Russ and I pledged to each other, “If we’re ever in a place where we’re working together, we need to write a book about Baptists and their view of Scripture." Because what we were finding out was that the things people were saying about Baptists and their view of Scripture was simply not true.
