As Benjamin Quinn and I prepared to teach a class on work and vocation and write Every Waking Hour, we read every book on faith and work that we could get our hands on.

If you want to learn more about how faith impacts your work, you should add these seven books to your summer reading list.

An examination of vocational stewardship and how it offers a way to advance the kingdom mission.

A condensed biblical theology of work.

3. Work: The Meaning of Your Life

A short work examining how work gives meaning to life.

4. Every Good Endeavor
By Timothy Keller (New York: Dutton, 2012)

An extensive look at a Christian view of work.

5. How then Shall We Work? Rediscovering the Biblical Doctrine of Work
By Hugh Whelchel (Bloomington, IN: WestBow Press, 2012)

A brief biblical and historical theology of work that concludes with what work means for Christians today.

6. God at Work: Your Christian Vocation in All of Life

A spiritual framework for understanding the doctrine of vocation and how it applies to everyday life
