Summer Reading List

Mission Mobilization | Scott Hildreth’s Summer Reading Recommendations

As summer begins, we want to help you craft the perfect Summer Reading List. We asked Southeastern Seminary professors what books they would recommend, and we’ve been sharing their recommendations.

Today, Dr. Scott Hildreth recommends two books for your summer reading list.

Each of these books promises a unique theme for mission mobilization.

The Symphony on Mission: Playing Your Part in God’s Work in the World
by Michael Goheen and Jim Mullins (Baker, 2019)

The Great Story and the Great Commission: Participating in the Biblical Drama of Missions
by Christopher Wright (Baker, 2024)

Each of these books promises a unique theme for mission mobilization. I am hoping they will give me some new themes for teaching students about God’s mission and the different motivations and opportunities we have for participating in it.
