Be Equipped to Face Today's Challenges

What challenges do we face as human beings? How does our faith inform our understanding of mental health, identity, technology, life, and civic engagement?

Join us as we advance the conversation at our third-annual Exploring Personhood conference, presented by the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture at the Ledford Center of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary on Feb. 21-22, 2024. You’ll hear from George Yancey, Liz Hall, Jacob Shatzer, John Wilsey, and Fuz Rana.

Exploring Personhood: Challenges to Humanity will begin with the authority of the Scriptures and Christian theology. We’ll then invite perspectives from sociology, psychology, history, science, and ministry. Our aim is to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue on the Imago Dei and embodiment — all for the glory of God and the good of the world.

This conference is part of a larger project titled “Being Human: Theology and Praxis” made possible through the support of a grant from the John Templeton Foundation. We thank the Foundation for its generosity, and we pray that our efforts will prove helpful for facilitating thoughtful dialogue and fruitful ministry.

Add-On Ticket: "Science & the Journey to Faith": Dinner with Praveen Sethupathy and Molly Worthen

While at the conference, you're invited to join us on Feb. 21 at 6pm for dinner and a live recording of the Language of God podcast with host Jim Stump and guests Molly Worthen and Praveen Sethupathy.

Molly Worthen was a well known historian, specializing in United States religious history. Her book, Apostles of Reason: The Crisis of Authority in American Evangelicalism was a critical appraisal of Evangelism’s lack of centralized authority and the conflicts that ensue from that. But then in an interesting twist, she herself converted to Christianity, after long exploratory conversations with people like Tim Keller and Francis Collins. Also important to her faith journey was Praveen Sethupathy, who himself converted to Christianity from his Hindu upbringing. In this conversation we will explore these faith journeys.

You can add on this ticket for just $5 — a 67% savings! (Or, you can purchase dinner-only tickets.)
