Carver-Barnes Lectureship with Dr. Gregory Thornbury- February 22, 2016

Dr. Gregory Thornbury spoke on Cain, Abel and Kanye.  Dr. Thornbury serves as the President of The King’s College in New York City.  The King’s College is an institution dedicated to faith, free enterprise, and The American Dream.  Called “America’s First Hipster College President” by The American Spectator, Dr. Thornbury is also a Visiting Professor at the Values and Capitalism Initiative of the American Enterprise Institute; a Senior Fellow for The Kairos Journal; a columnist for Townhall.com; and a member of the editorial board of the Salem Media Group.  Dr. Thornbury spoke for a Ph.D. and Faculty Luncheon as well.  He spoke on Recovering Classical Evangelicalism.

Drummond-Bush Lectureship with Dr. Mark Yarhouse- November 12, 2015

Dr. Yarhouse gave a lecture on Sexual Identity and the Christian: Reflections on Ministry in a Changing Culture.  Dr. Yarhouse is Professor of Psychology and the Hughes Endowed Chair at Regent University, where he directs the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity. Dr. Yarhouse has spent many years bringing together people who view the topic of sexual identity differently.  Dr. Yarhouse spoke in chapel as well.

CFC Lecture with Matthew Sleeth- October 1, 2015

Dr. Sleeth gave a lecture on Missing the Trees for the Forest: The Biblical Connection of Trees and Spiritual Maturity.  Dr. Sleeth is the Executive Director of Blessed Earth, founder of the Seminary Stewardship Alliance, and author of numerous creation care books.

Carver-Barnes Lectureship with Dr. Robert Woodberry- April 23, 2015

Dr. Woodberry gave the 2015 Carver-Barnes Lectureship.  His lecture was on The World the Missionaries Made.  Dr. Woodberry is the Director of the Project on Religion and Economic Change, Associate Professor of Political Science at the National University of Singapore.

CFC Luncheon with Tami Fitzgerald- February 20, 2015

Tami Fitzgerald spoke to Faculty and PhD students on Battleground NC: Marriage, Life and Religious Liberty in the Tarheel State.  Mrs. Fitzgerald is the Executive Director of the NC Values Coalition.
